winter comes to town
after spending all fall doing my boat I just finished covering up
for winter. This falls project was new bellows for u-joint,new bellows for exhaust, new oil seal, new gimbal bearing,new water hose,new shifter
cable. I should have a new boat in the spring.

my boat

I have not posted for a while . I bought a boat and have spent some time riding about.

Salem harbor is now where I roam. my boat needed a new alternator so I spent some time rewiring the boat. I whent to the boat launch in lawrence and snapped off the skeg on the outdrive. I welded a new skeg on and I think it looks good.

in the canoe I caught 1 striper on the green lure.

go for a ride

sunday the rain was coming down hard. way to hard to enjoy fishing, so I took a ride to salem harbor to check out the waters for this seasons boating. I was there several weeks back to check out a boat launch.this time the tide was in,a whole different world.

the weather was super with little wind.

Nashua river I took

vacation thursday quessing that everybody was going friday . I was the only one on the river all day . I caught 5 bass and a pickerel with the biggest bass being 3 lbs.

If you have never been to the nashua it winds like a snake with an oxbow or

slough of the end of each corner. I fish the section rte 119 to the Pepperel dam.

CONCORD RIVER PIKE

On the section of the river that I was fishing, rte 225 to rte 4. there was only one other person on the river.

Northern pike fishing was the plan and I got pike. Pike have the same body type but the pattern is different. The pike from the concord have a beautiful color ,on the their back is red and gold spotson an olive background. The top picture is a pike and the bottom is of a pickerel.

Thursday is spring

temps are still cold but they're back

the weather was super with the sun warming up the air nicely.

One fish , 1-3/4 lb bass came early with not another bite. The pictures show how bright the day was. I only saw two other persons fishing . Snowmobiles and a parachute skier and windsurfer provided visual entertainment to pass the time

Another day

Overcast skies and slick ice kept most people home. Four fish came knocking,three pickerel and one perch. Wilmington pet supply has bait but they only sell small minnows. I am going to have to go to mackie's in dracut to get bigger bait. The ice was over 11" thick at Steams pond
in Harold Parker. This is a good pickerel pond . Other ponds in Harold Parker state park have good bass.I have caught one 5 l.b. thru the ice.

CRAZY !

First it was snowing and then it was raining and the it was clear.Wait two minutes and then it was raining ,snowing and clear again.Just after things calmed down I heard thunder and turned to see the sky darken. It looked like smoke coming through the trees,the snow squall was moving at 45 mph! In seconds it overtook me with blinding snow that stung my face as I tried to look back at my string of traps. Three perch and several tip-ups made the time pass.This pond has good size pickerel but nobody was home.

5 bass and two perch but nothing big. Tip-ups were plentiful and nice weather was appreciated.

My other teammate was sidelined with the flu. One person in the group beside me had a 3 lb.

bass. 11 1/2" of ice was just enough to use the gas auger on. I can only hope for the next tournament.
