Ice fishing while it snows
When it snows has got to be one of my favorite times to fish. The snow seems to keep the people inside the house.
I like to fish on lakes that don't get the traffic. The snow falling and the quiet add to the experience.Today I had two
pickerel and a perch. All were caught on red circle hooks. I have had good luck fishing with the red circle hooks, believing that the red color adds extra attraction to the bait. pickerel have soft tissue on the sides of the mouth that tears pretty easily so catching them in the corner of the mouth prevents alot of bleeding ... mostly by you trying to remove the hook.Pickerel can be held by lightly reaching up at the botton of the gill plate.Be careful of the gills and the rakers which can be sharp.
